Getting started in music is not always an easy process. Many people doubt their inner voice and let others dictate what is and isn’t possible. That doubt stopped me from playing the guitar and writing music for years, let alone thinking about performing and recording.
That is why I created this blog. I want to share my musical journey covering what I learn along the way to help others realize they are not alone and that they should follow their dream to create music.
I started performing again in 2022 for the first time since I was 16. I’m also setting up a home recording space and learning how to use music tech to capture my songs and then compose, arrange, and mix them myself. I want to share the whole process with you, hoping you can use it as inspiration for your adventures in performing and creating independent music.
My process is very intuitive, and I allow space for things to change quickly or evolve slowly, depending on the pace of my personal growth and the direction my creativity takes me. I want to show you the twists and turns as I figure this all out, so you can realize you don’t have to have it all mapped out at the start (that is a great way to stay blocked).
For example, this blog is on its third reframing! At first, it was just somewhere I shared my writing and my life. Then it focused on helping people rediscover their intuition to lead a more fulling life. Now it is front and center about this epic adventure I’ve decided to embark upon as a singer-songwriter. And I’m fine with that.
Things change in the creative world and life. Learning to flow with it requires a good relationship with your intuition. I want to show you that by example.
