Hump day is song day! :D
This song was my 2nd performance of 2023. During this song, I was a little more settled. It helped that I knew it better than my Christmas song before it.
I’m trying to use these moments when conditions are not optimal as an opportunity to practice with imperfect conditions. To get up there and do it anyway.
In this case, not only was I hot and flustered from the journey and the heat levels in the room, but my iRig adaptor didn’t fit the mixing desk, so my tech wasn’t working either. (Total mercury retrograde moment!)
So, even though my mouth was drying from the central heating, I was tired from my travels, and my tech wasn’t working, I got up there and sang anyway. The fact that the song came out halfway decent was a testament to my finding a way to settle down regardless.
The song Just For You is about waiting for someone you love to come home when they are on a mission elsewhere.
