I wrote this song when I had just turned 16 years old. It was the first song I wrote back then that I liked enough to share with others. That was a big deal for me as I struggled with intense stage fright.
The song is about falling into avoidance when life seems overwhelming; you have no idea what you are doing or where you want to be.
When I wrote it, it was a crossroad point where my school pushed me to make decisions about my future, and I had no idea what to do. I knew I loved music and art, but external influences drilled into me that I needed to do something more serious, lucrative, and “in demand.” There was so much confusion at that time, and it gave birth to this song.
